Welcome to Academy of Truck Driving! We are now in our second decade as a training organization for commercial trucks and buses, and we are proud to

announce that we have rapidly become a leader in our field. This year promises continued success as we strengthen our focus on job placement and job retention as well as expand our curriculum to include a Safe Commercial Driving seminar.

Our training facilities are strategically located at the Port of Oakland/Oakland ArmyBase, which is in the hub of Oakland’s trucking activity. Training at this

location routinely exposes our students to the realities and opportunities of the trucking industry. Our instructors have extensive, long-term commercial

driving experience and are certified by the State of California. Academy of Truck Driving (ATD) staff is highly-skilled in the trucking trade as well as vocational education. Our entire team is committed to supporting our students in preparing them to enter promising careers as professional commercial truck or bus drivers. Additionally, we enjoy strong partnerships and collaboration with several funding agencies and job placement organizations.

SuperSession Truck and Bus Training (195 hrs.)

Our best-value program. It combines our Standard Class A training and our Class B passenger endorsement

training. We will provide you with the necessary training to obtain both your Class A license and an unrestricted

bus license on a 40 passenger vehicle. Get the experience of driving a full size transit motor coach. This program

will expand your employment options to limousines and charter services.

Standard Class A Truck Driver Training (160 hrs.)

This is a very intense program with a primary emphasis on safe operations and accident prevention. Upon

completion of the training program your safety awareness will be expanded and your skills will exceed the

requirements of many employers. We will challenge and expose you to as many real life situations as possible so

that you will be road ready and confident in your driving ability.

We teach 10-speed shifting, backing, safety driving and combination driving.

Standard Class B Truck or Bus Driver Training (128 hrs.)

Choose your path with this license. Either to transport passengers or drive a single chassis vehicle. We provide a

huge emphasis on safe operation and accident prevention. Driving a single chassis vehicle such as garbage

trucks, cement trucks or a passenger bus safe operation is a must. Transporting passengers require a great level

of skill, focus and patience. Our bus training program provides you with real life bus driving experience.

Refresher Course

Class A & B Truck or Bus Driver Training (60 hrs.)

Our refresher program is recognized and approved throughout the transportation industry. It is designed for

individuals with prior commercial driving experience (truck or bus) or who qualify for the program. It is a

condensed version of our full training programs but at an accelerated pace.

Express Class A/B Truck or Bus Driver Training (35 hrs.)

Training program for individuals who have prior commercial driving experience (truck or bus) but need to renew

their license, prepare for a job interview or qualify for the shorter, condensed training.

Touch Ups

This program is designed to provide assistance in the following areas :

(1) written exam assistance ( DMV permits)

(2) pre trip inspection and/or air brake assistance,

(3) warm up for an interview-must have commercial license and pass school evaluation

(4) learn how to double clutch

(5) California Education Code (CEC)§94811 Ability to benefit exam

Tuition Assistance

Our programs are approved by Department of Rehabilitation, State Compensation Insurance Fund, WIA as

well as TAA funding agencies. If you are unemployed or a military veteran give us a call and lets see if any of

our financial partners can assist with covering the cost of your training program. We will customize company

sponsored training programs to meet the specific needs of the employer as well as work with Employer Tuition

Reimbursement Program. Other acceptable terms of payment are cash, check or credit card.
