To first acquire a Commercial Driving License in Illinois, you must show proof of residency in Illinois, receive a medical certificate, go through professional training and pass a CDL written exam and driving exam. Viking Chicago CDL Driving School provides students with excellent training on the road and in the classroom. Applicants go through 40 hours of training in the classroom on subjects that cover topics such as defensive driving, DOT, and logbooks. We prepare you for the CDL permit in the beginning of class as well as the required DOT Driver Wellness unit. Our programs are designed for beginner drivers through our 160 or 240-hour programs, with both including the mandatory 40 classroom hours. The lessons you are taught range from State Regulations and DOT Safety Rules to developing skills and proficiency in driving on the road.
