About Us

Midwest Truck Driving School was started in 1998 and has since graduated over 3,000 students with their Class A CDL's. We offer state of the art equipment, industry specific training semi-trucks, and instructors that have a passion for teaching the industries next professional drivers. We'll be there from the first day to the last day when you pass the CDL test and receive your Midwest Truck Driving School certificate.

Midwest Truck Driving School Courses

160 Hour CVTA Certified Class A CDL Course

The Class A CDL tractor trailer training course consists of 160 hours of classroom instruction, yard maneuvers, and on the road driving experience. This course is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the trucking industry and meets transportation standards for individuals to enter the industry as an entry level professional driver. The course meets standards from the FMCSA Entry Level Driver Training and is accredited through the Commercial Vehicle Training Association. Course meets Monday through Friday from 8am – 4:30pm for four consecutive weeks. Cost of tuition includes books, supplies, recruiters, DOT presentations, ELDT certificate, and final state skills test. Students in this course also get to navigate across the Mackinac Bridge and skid pad training at Michigan’s only certified skid pad. Skid pad training includes winter driving techniques, hydroplaning, adverse weather condition training, skid control, hazard avoidance, and safe vehicle recovery training.

Class A CDL 40 Hour Refresher Course

One week Class A CDL refresher course for students that already hold a Class A CDL (Course includes 40 hours of classroom instruction, yard maneuvers, and on the road driving experience)

Class B CDL 40 Hour Straight Truck Course

One week Class B CDL with air brake. Course includes license to drive dump truck, straight truck, road commission truck, utility vehicle and any Class B approved vehicle (Class includes 40 hours of classroom instruction, yard maneuvers, and on the road driving experience)

Class B CDL 40 Hour School Bus/ Passenger Course

One week school bus Class B CDL with air brake (Course includes passenger and bus endorsement, and license to drive coach, school bus, passenger bus, transit and shuttle bus)

Class B CDL 80 Hour Extended Course

Two week Class B CDL course designed to equip students with everything they need for Class B transportation. Course includes air brake, bus, and passenger endorsement (Course consists of 80 hours of classroom instruction, yard maneuvers, and on the road driving experience)
