CDL Training Course Overview

Delta Tech offers a hands-on training course for drivers interested in earning their Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Throughout the CDL Training Course, students will have classroom, range, road, and remedial training. Course participants will also learn to execute relevant skills, fulfilling their training for an entry-level position in the trucking industry.

CDL training at Delta Tech familiarizes students with the issuing state’s CDL, driver safety, air brakes, combination vehicles, log books, trip planning, and public and employee relations requirements. Additionally, the CDL Training Course will educate students so they are prepared to take the state licensing exam and obtain a CDL with the issuing state.

After successfully completing the CDL Training Course, students will receive a certificate of completion.

Delta Technical College also offers a Professional Truck Driving Program which prepares students for a career as a truck driver through a comprehensive 20-week training program.

CDL Training at Delta Technical College

There are a lot of career paths for commercial truck drivers, from local jobs to part-time opportunities. CDL classes at Delta Tech (DTC) can prepare students for entry-level truck driver positions. The 20-day CDL Training Course is a combination of classroom instruction where students learn the state CDL manuals, and behind-the-wheel training on the range where they will practice driving maneuvers. Students will also gain experience on the open road, preparing them for the real-world experience of driving a truck. Instructors are experienced professionals who offer hands-on instruction, teaching students how to correctly and safely perform the required skill standards necessary for an entry-level truck driving position.

The DTC driving school near Memphis, at the Horn Lake, Mississippi campus, and the Ridgeland, MS campus prepares students to pass the state licensing exam and obtain a Class A CDL license with the issuing state.
