Truck Driver Training

Earn your Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with classroom instruction, range driving, and road experience. The class will prepare the prospective driver to understand safety, driver responsibility, and also the laws and regulations governing the motor carrier industry. For your convenience class will be held in a weekend setting.

Our truck driver training program started in 1990 with one truck and a few students. Today we have over 90 pieces of equipment and have graduated over 2,000 CDL drivers in the past 10 years. We offer full-time day classes requiring 9 weeks to complete and a part-time evening class (Hudson only) that takes 15 weeks.

The trucking industry continues to be a major employer in the United States, with almost 9 million people employed in trucking-related jobs. Over 3 million of these are drivers of tractor-trailers operated by over 550,000 interstate motor carriers. More than 80% of U.S. cities receive their goods exclusively from trucks.

Now as freight and the economy begin to turn around the trucking industry is facing a growing epidemic across the country. As the driver shortage epidemic grows larger every day, entry-level drivers are entering a demanding field where there is a premium placed on quality student drivers fresh out of school.

At CCC&TI we have a very successful job placement program with numerous local and national trucking companies recruiting our graduates during and after each class. During the past 12 month reporting period, CCC&TI graduated 225 students with 88% of those being pre-hired prior to graduation.

Graduates from our program can expect to average $50,000 or more their first year and up to $60,000 or better with one year of experience.

CCC&TI is an affordable, convenient higher education and career training option serving the people of Caldwell and Watauga counties and beyond. We strive to have a positive impact on the lives of the students we serve, to support economic development and to offer diverse services and opportunities that improve the quality of life for everyone in our community.
