Future Truckers of America was founded in 1997 by Randy Batts, a former truck driver and veteran who wanted a school where students were treated with respect and every effort was given to educate students properly.

FTA is approved and governed by the North Carolina Department of Motor vehicles to provide CDL training in the state of North Carolina. FTA is a NCDMV approved CDL testing company which means our students are road tested by our state approved examiners before completion of the training program. Upon successful completion of the CDL Test, each graduate is provided the documents required to obtain their CDL.

FTA also offers housing with many of the comforts of home, including Wi-Fi for those who wish to study a little more in the evenings with their personal laptops.

While in the classroom, you will use "clickers" to interactively answer questions on the classroom's computer screen. We've taken every step to make your CDL training as interactive and easy to understand as possible. We know that the more comfortable you are with the equipment and the more knowledgeable you are with the study materials, the more confident you will be when you get behind the wheel of your first big rig!
