TRUCK AND BUS TRAINING

Don't be intimidated by climbing into a "BIG RIG". Our instructors are trained to help students feel relaxed thoughout all the steps necessary to achieve a Commercial Driver's License (C.D.L.). Superior is equipped to train students for Class A and Class B licenses, along with all the endorsements (Tankers, Doubles, Triples, Hazmat and Passenger). Superior offers small class sizes, personalized attention, a family environment and WE NEVER GIVE UP ON YOU!

C.D.L. COURSE OUTLINE

CLASSROOM TRAINING - (Week One) - Students will prepare for all written C.D.L. exams including general knowledge, air brakes, combination vehicles, double and triples, hazmat, tankers and passenger.

YARD TRAINING - (Week Two) - Students will learn to master the skills of backing a tractor/trailer (and/or bus); tactical tight maneuvering; straight line backing (to 100'); 45 and 90 degree alley docking; air brake test. Our yard training also includes the following: Pre-trip inspection, in-cab inspections, en-route inspection, and post-trip inspection.

ROAD TRAINING - (Week Three) - Students will be trained in driving the tractor-trailer (and/or bus) including light to heavy density traffic, shifting, turning, use of clutch and fuel, observing traffic regulations and defensive driving.

1/2 YARD and 1/2 ROAD TRAINING - (Week 4) Students will address personal driving issues with our instructors in preparation for their C.D.L. road test, and practice.

All passenger endorsement students will return after successful completion of their C.D.L. road test,for two more days of training, in conjunction with their passenger road test training.

COURSE COMPLETION - We supply you with your complete Graduation Package, and our Job Placement Specialist is ready and willing to assist all of our new drivers in obtaining employment in their new career of trucking. It is our goal to assist you in finding quality work in the field after graduation. You are part of the Superior family and we strive to help your dreams come true.

ARE YOU SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN OR HAVE OTHER TRUCKING NEEDS? If you know a little bit about handling the big rig, but think you may still need some training, we offer evaluations. We will set you up with one of our instructors to take you through a mini road test, seeing what you know and what areas, if any, need additional training. Additional training is offered in the forms of daily and weekly rates.

Do you just need a truck for the road test? We can rent you a truck. One of our licensed instructors will meet you a the test site for your road test. We always require, prior to renting a truck for your road test, a free evaluation with one of our instructors to ensure your driving knowledge for test time readiness.

Superior Driving School was established in 1997 and is currently a Women owned and operated Corporation. We are located in Toms River, New Jersey. The school was created with the goal of increasing traffic safety and driver awareness on New Jersey’s heavily traveled roads. We have been successful in training Commercial drivers, Student drivers and Recreational Vehicle drivers and provide on-going training, monitoring and refresher courses for its graduates.

Superior Driving School has trained countless drivers in New Jersey, and has all the required State certifications. The Driving School Director, Mike Chevalier, brings to us his 25 years of C.D.L. driving experience; 15 years on the road and 10 years instructing. Our staff of instructors also brings an average of over 13 years of Tractor Trailer experience to the job.

All of our offices offer courses for our first time drivers, our defensive driving courses, and have classrooms and yards for our C.D.L. Truck/Bus and RV classes. Our offices are conveniently located throughout Central and Southern New Jersey to suit your needs.

Our office hours are Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm Saturday hours are 9am - 12pm. The experts at Superior Driving School will prepare you for your big day.
