Jump Start’s Truck Driver Training is directly helping to meet the growing workforce needs of the trucking industry. This course allows the student to gain the practical knowledge and hands-on experience necessary to become qualified and obtain employment in a shorter period of time. Customized lesson plans and training aids provide the most accurate, easy-to-understand, hands-on learning experience with an emphasis on safety. After the successful completion of the course, the trucking industry will gain an eligible, professionally trained candidate while bringing the student that much closer to obtaining a good job and a family sustaining wage.

This course is designed to introduce and enhance your knowledge for a new career as a professional driver in the road transportation industry. You will learn to make sound decisions by applying the basic driving principles used by safe, professional truck drivers every day. The classroom portion of the course prepares the student to test for a Class A CDL permit and optional license endorsements including Hazmat, Tanker and Double/Triple.

This program will also cover a wide range of driver’s duties and responsibilities including: government regulations, hours of service for drivers, vehicle operating systems, and trip planning that professional drivers utilize on the job daily. The practical driving portion of the course is designed to enhance the student’s driving skills by developing and improving the techniques necessary for safe driving.

Upon successful completion of this course you will possess the knowledge to operate a tractor-trailer and be prepared for CDL license testing and employment in the road transportation industry. Graduates will be eligible to test for their CDL in a provided training truck with an authorized state examiner.

Tuition includes mandatory DOT/FMCSA compliant physical and screens, motor vehicle record report, classroom materials and Practical CDL Exam in a provided training truck with a state licensed examiner.

Tuition does not include CDL permitting test cost(s) which will be incurred by the student at their respective states DMV. Permit and optional endorsement fees vary from state to state and additionally vary with the individual’s testing choices. Our admissions representatives will be able to assist you in calculating your cost for permit and endorsement testing based on your individual state’s costs and fees.

Your practical training will take place on recent model year Freightliner tractors, equipped with 10-speed manual transmissions, tilt and telescopic steering wheels, air ride seats, air conditioned cab and cruise control. Cabs have been designed to provide a mobile classroom with individual seats for each student. 48 foot trailers complete the training units, accurately representing the working A Class combination tractor trailers you see on the road every day.
