Not only have we been training drivers for success for decades, but we also have a commitment to continuous development!

Stevens Transport has just taken the next step and was granted authorization in April 2017 to administer the Commercial Driver License (CDL) Skills Test on behalf of the Department of Public Safety. This authorization allows Stevens Transport to conduct the Third-Party Skills CDL Test. Having the capabilities to conduct the Third Party CDL Test has greatly reduced the wait time for a student to take the Skills test, which means that you could be on the road starting your adventure that much quicker!

INDUSTRY LEADING TUITION SHARE AND REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAMS

At Stevens Transport, we see the value of not only adding skilled, talented drivers to the industry, but also giving students the opportunity to learn! If you do not have the financial means to go to an outside training program, we do offer company sponsorship.

STEVENS TRANSPORT OFFERS UP TO $7500 IN REIMBURSEMENT

Stevens Transport also offers anyone who attends an outside CDL academy up to $7500 in tuition reimbursement to be paid out to the driver themselves or to their lender as long as they are working for us. We have an impeccable record with finance companies by making on-time payments for our drivers so that there is no stress involved. We take the burden off of your shoulders so that you can focus on what is important!

ATTEND TRUCK DRIVING SCHOOL IN KNOXVILLE

TRAIN FOR YOUR TENNESSEE CLASS A CDL

Tennessee Truck Driving School (TTDS) is one of Stevens Transport’s partners in Knoxville, TN, providing top notch recruiting and training to new drivers in the Tennessee area. The partnership that Stevens Transport has with TTDS allows new drivers the opportunity to train with their employer while earning their Commercial Drivers License (CDL). Once on the road, graduates of this program earn up to $50,000 in the first year and $70,000 in the third year.

Training at Knoxville’s leading CDL training program will put you on the path to success because of the extra lengths that trainers go to ensure student success. In addition to helping students obtain their CDL, certified professional trainers teach new drivers industry best practices and ensure that they are the best and safest drivers on the road. Students at TTDS receive the time and attention that they need to be successful in the three-week program. Classroom learning is the first step in the CDL process. Each Monday, a new class period starts at TTDS with classes being held Monday through Friday over the three-week period.

Once the classroom portion has been completed, Stevens will pay for transportation to headquarters in Dallas, TX where a required orientation will be held. After orientation has been successfully completed, drivers become official employees of Stevens Transport and are added to the driver payroll.

At this point, over-the-road (OTR) training takes students to the next level of expertise. New drivers are paired with a driver mentor and trainer, receiving 1-on-1 training. This process requires that students complete 240 hours behind the wheel over a five to six-week period. The individual training aspect encompasses driving and navigating all five regions of the U.S. while learning to haul time-sensitive and temperature-controlled commodities. During this time, drivers earn a weekly salary.

Upon completion of this training, drivers are assigned to their own equipment and compensation will be made on a per mile basis. First year drivers have an average annual income of $50,000 and third year drivers have an average annual income of $70,000.
