Truck drivers are in high demand!

CDS Tractor Trailer Training (CDS), in association with Rappahannock Community College, offers a 20-day program for Class A training. This commercial driver license (CDL) course will certify you to drive a Class A motor vehicle such as a tractor trailer, dump truck, cement truck, etc. New drivers average $700-$1,100 a week in the first year! CDS will provide job placement assistance to all students and graduates can choose from local, regional, or over-the-road driving opportunities.

The first two weeks are online classes. The online portion covers important safety and regulation topics and lays the foundation for you to begin the range and road training. Once students have completed their online classroom training and have their CDL learners permit, they are scheduled to begin their range/road training. This training consists of a pre-trip inspection, backing manuevers and road training as required by the DMV skills test. Student who demonstrate proficiency in these areas advance to take their skills test. CDS is a third-party tester for DMV and can perform these skills tests for students.
