COMMERCIAL DRIVER’S LICENSE (CDL)

What credentials can I earn through Camp’s program?

Camp’s Truck Driver Training program prepares you for the CDL license test for either the CDL Class A or CDL Class B.

What is the difference between CDL Class A and CDL Class B?

CDL Class A, you can drive any combination of vehicles with a gross combination weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 pounds or more if the vehicle(s) being towed has a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of more than 10,000 pounds. Vehicles in this class include Tractor-trailer, Truck and trailer combinations, and Tractor-trailer buses. If you hold a class A license and you have the correct endorsements, you may also operate vehicles listed in Class B.

CDL Class B, you can drive any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 pounds or more. Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 pounds or more towing another vehicle with a GVWR of 10,000 pounds or less. This class includes Straight trucks, Large buses, Segmented buses, Trucks towing vehicles with GVWR of 10,000 pounds or less.

CDL Class A

Earning your Class A CDL can be the entryway to an entirely new career with higher pay and better benefits! Associated Credential: Class A Commercial Driver’s License (160 hours) [40 classroom hours and 120 hands-on hours]
