A BREAKDOWN OF CLASS A TRAINING

Training to operate Class A vehicles involves a minimum of 160 hours of instruction, learning various skills in and out of the classroom. This training course consists of:

40 hours of classroom instruction

18 hours of street driving training

16 hours of training in backing maneuvers

16 hours of proficiency development

70 hours of combined lab training, range training and observation

The Independent Truck Driver Training, Inc. classroom has all the necessary and required equipment to meet the needs of our in-depth training criteria. We have a driving range in close proximity to our administrative and classroom center. This is where students develop basic driving, backing up, and shifting skills. We are also VA approved.

Our equipment includes buses, trucks, tractors and trailers that are used in the training programs. The equipment that we use is updated regularly to replicate the ones used by most of the trucking industry and we also make sure that they meet all Department of Transportation requirements.
