The Commercial Truck Driving (CDL) program offers short-term courses that provide students the potential for immediate employment in a living wage job upon successful completion. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety administration (FMCSA) requires specialized training in the areas of driver qualification, hours of service, driver wellness, and whistleblower protection for entry-level drivers who are subject to the commercial driver’s license requirements (49CFR Part 380). The CDL program provides new and renewing drivers the training requirements for the Washington State CDL License, including endorsements for doubles, triples, tankers, hazardous material and no air brake restrictions. Students learn to maneuver large vehicles on crowded streets and in highway traffic, as well as learn to inspect trucks and freight for compliance with regulations.

WWCC’s Degree Options WWCC offers a Truck Driver Training Certificate, Flagger Training and CPR/First Aid/ AED. A local background check is available which is necessary for receiving a Hazmat endorsement. If planning to work in a city, county, state, or federal job, flagger and first aid training are often required. The Commercial Truck Driving program also offers a passenger and school bus endorsement.
