HOW WE GOT STARTED

Brian Brady, Jenean Brady and Martin LaGue founded Totally Tanker Interiors (TTI) in 2003 in response to the need for a safer and higher quality of tanker washouts. Our sister company Truck Tub http://www.trucktub.com/ had performed tanker washouts by hand for many years–we understood what it took to deliver an inspection-quality washout.

At Truck Tub, we noticed that many of the tanker drivers we served arrived at our truck wash after our competitor’s automated washouts failed to help them pass inspection.
Drivers and companies trusted our ability to prepare their tanks for inspection, and we wanted to find a way to do an even better job, faster: to get our customers back on the road as quickly as possible while providing a thorough and quality washout.

OUR PARTNERSHIP

With over 40 years in the truck washing industry, we knew we could bring tanker washouts to a new level. We researched equipment manufacturers and chose Industrial Design and Fabrication, an innovative, cutting-edge rail washout manufacturer. Together we designed, tested and built the best tank washout system available anywhere. We diligently monitor innovation and are quick to implement new ideas and changes. Our unique partnership with Industrial Design and Fabrication guarantees that the equipment built for us is second to none.
Our equipment coupled with employees who have earned a reputation as the best in the industry allow us to offer a 100% guarantee on our tanker washouts.

QUALITY SECOND TO NONE – OUR 100% GUARANTEE

From day one we have recognized that properly cleaning a tank is one of the first and most vital steps in the food manufacturing process. Working hand in hand with Industrial Design and Fabrication, the JPA, IMS, Ok kosher and many of the major food manufacturers we have developed the equipment and procedures to insure the proper sanitization of every tank we clean.

We are so confident in our quality and service that we guarantee every washout we perform per JPA, IMS, and kosher guidelines. This guarantee is very rare in our industry. In fact you will find that the majority of commercial washout facilities require trucking companies sign a release of liability before the tank leaves their facility.

MULTIPLE TYPES OF WASHOUTS

Totally Tanker Interiors serves food-grade tanker companies.  The truck drivers transporting the food products of these companies are the ones who bring in their tankers for washouts.

  • TYPE 1 TANK WASHOUT
    • Rinse-only.  This type of wash is only suitable for a small percentage of our customers.  Because it does not involve any sanitizing steps, we do not guarantee this type of washout for inspection purposes.
  • TYPE 2 TANK WASHOUT
    • A pre-rinse followed by a 160° caustic cycle and finishing with a cool down sanitizing rinse.
  • TYPE 3 WASHOUT
    • Type 3 Washout involves a  pre-rinse, 160° degreasing cycle, a 160° caustic cycle, and a cool down, sanitizing rinse.
  • TYPE 5 WASHOUT
    • A Type 5 washout is a standardized washout that meets the majority of osher requirements.  It consists of a pre-rinse, 160° degreasing cycle, 160° caustic cycle, 208° potable water cycle, and a cool down, sanitizing rinse.
  • EXTRA SERVICES
    • SWAB TESTING
    • PUMP CLEANING
    • AIR DRY
    • HOSE CLEANING  $5.00 Fee for a maximum of 2 per washout
    • HEELS (first 200 gallons FREE)

Rinse-only.  This type of wash is only suitable for a small percentage of our customers.  Because it does not involve any sanitizing steps, we do not guarantee this type of washout for inspection purposes.

KOSHER MAINTENANCE

A Type II, III or V washout with potable water used for the final sanitizing rinse.  It is intended for trucks who have hauled a kosher load and are preparing to haul a kosher load.

HIGH QUALITY EQUIPMENT

Totally Tanker Interiors has invested considerably in its state-of-the-art setup. Its self-rinsing spinner, for one, has gotten certification from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Moreover, all of the cleaning products that are used in the washout process by the company have also been approved by the USDA and certified as kosher.

PASSIVATION

A washout primarily used for cleaning and chemically treating the surface of tank interiors prior to putting them into service.  This is a Type IV washout followed by a citric acid cycle at 160°, followed by a Type II washout.  While originally intended for new tanks, this type of washout can be useful in restoring discolored tanks.

EXCELLENT TRAINING PROGRAM

We  make  sure that all of our  personnel are properly trained and kept up to date with policies. We have continuted to a strict training program since we opened in 2003.

TIPS TO HELP KEEP YOUR WASHOUT COSTS DOWN!

  • When your tank is unloaded, have your driver inspect it before leaving. It is common for a tank to arrive at our facility with 300 or more gallons of product left inside.  In worst case scenarios we’ve seen as much as 1000 gallons of product left in tank.
  • If you are hauling liquid product that solidify at cooler temperatures, have your driver add at least 200 gallons of water to the tank after it has been unloaded and keep the tank heated until washout.
