Truck Driver Training (CDL)
This program meets the state and federal training required to become a commercial truck driver. Through classes and on-the-road practice, you’ll learn to safely drive Class A combination vehicles, with additional study in airbrakes; driving double- and triple-trailer vehicles and tankers; and hauling hazardous material.
After completing the program, you’ll have the skills and knowledge to pursue a Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL) and special endorsements in the field. Course does not include final CDL Skills Test, this will need to be paid and scheduled with the Department of Licensing.
The certificate takes 4.5 weeks to complete. Prior to the start of the course, students must:
Be 18 years of age or older.
Have met the Department of Licensing’s certified physical and drug test requirements.
Carry a valid driver’s license from the state in which the student resides.
Obtain a motor vehicle or valid driving record for the last three-year period.
Funding Availability
Funding may be available to those who qualify.
Commercial Truck Driving Class A
Learn to operate a tractor-trailer during this 160-hour noncredit class. Classroom instruction and on-the-road training prepare students for the CDL Class, written and driving tests, and meet all State of Washington entry-level requirements for the trucking industry. Students will receive a Certificate of Completion.
